Our Department was formed in 2005 by creating the Sandoval County Fire Department from nine previously independent Fire Departments. Each of the nine Departments are known as Districts today and are under the day to day supervision of a District Chief. SCFD has approximately 200 volunteers, 12 field career firefighters, three Deputy Fire Chiefs, and a County Fire Chief. The Department covers 3700 square miles through 17 Fire Stations and currently has four new fire stations under construction.

The career firefighters are currently assigned to the Southern part of the County and provide both fire supression, and advanced level emergency medical services.
